Why is Sleeping important?

Some people, not just some, MOST of the people in this world prefer staying up until 4am midnight just to play games i mean, seriously?

Some people take all their electronics out and chat, play games, go on Instagram, Facebook and all the social media stuff up to 3am and wakes up at 7am in the morning going on their electronics again...

People like these  must change something.

Going on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat and Gaming, i understand, is a TOTAL ADDICT. But you'll have to turn that "Total Addict :o" into "Total Stuff..." (I am saying this for health reasons)

Why do we have to sleep?

We think that we sleep when the mind and body is shut down, but it's not true, sleep is actually an active period where there is a lot of important processing, restoration and strengthening occurs. One of the vital roles of sleep is solidify and consolidate memories. As a day goes pass, our brains take in an enormous amount of information. Other than it being directly logged and recorded, however, these facts and experiences first need to be processes and stored; and most of these steps happen when we sleep. During sleep, bits and pieces of information are transferred from more tentative, short-term memory, to stronger long-term memory, this process is called "consolidation". Some researchers have also shown that after they sleep, they tend to retain information and perform better on memory tasks.
